About the project
“Stronger than Fear” is a children’s hospice book inspired by conversations with children and young people receiving hospice care. It offers a gentle, honest glimpse into experiences that often remain unseen and tells stories of courage, hope, and joy.
In collaboration with MetaDesign and the Arne-Friedrich-Stiftung, we created a visual world that gives these voices the space and visibility they deserve. I illustrated four of the stories as well as the book’s cover, accompanying the project from the early conceptual phase to the final artwork. During the launch event, I shared insights into my creative process in a short Q&A and later met some of the children who inspired the stories, a deeply touching and meaningful moment.
The book premiere at MetaHaus brought together authors, hospice representatives, and affected children, young people, and families. A live reading by actor and Renaissance Theater Berlin director Guntbert Warns added emotional depth to an evening united by a shared purpose: supporting and acknowledging these young individuals and their families.
